Working principle:
Under the action of positive and negative electrodes in the electrolytic cell, a series of electrochemical reactions take place to produce sodium hypochlorite solution. Sodium hypochlorite is a strong oxidant formed in aqueous solution
Hypochlorite ion, produced by electrolysis to sodium hypochlorite, has the same oxidation and disinfection effects as other chlorine derivatives.
Electrode reaction:
Anode: 2Cl - -2e - →Cl 2 ↑
Cathode: 2H + +2e - →H 2 ↑
The total response:
NaCl+H 2o →NaClO+H2↑
