Sodium hypochlorite electrolytic cell is a device for preparing sodium hypochlorite by electrolysis of sodium chloride aqueous solution. Here's how it works:

1. Prepare an aqueous solution of sodium chloride, and add an appropriate amount of auxiliary electrolyte, such as ferric chloride, copper chloride, etc.

2. Connect the anode (titanium anode plate) and cathode (pure titanium plate) in the electrolytic cell to the positive and negative poles of the power supply respectively.

3. Start to apply DC power. During the electrolysis process, the chlorine ions on the anode are converted into gaseous chlorine molecules and released, while the water on the cathode is reduced to hydrogen and hydroxide ions.

4. Chlorine molecules will form hypochlorous acid (HClO) and hypochlorite ions (ClO-) after contacting water in the upper gas area of the electrolyzer, and then run down to the water at the bottom of the electrolyzer and stabilize into sodium hypochlorite (NaClO) .

5. Collect the produced gas and liquid from the electrode, and then perform steps such as separation and filtration to finally obtain a certain concentration of sodium hypochlorite.
